FAQs about the R+V Gesundheit App

General Questions

With the app, you can submit doctor's bills, prescriptions, orders, treatment and cost plans, as well as other documents digitally to R+V Krankenversicherung AG for an existing health insurance policy. You do not need to fill out any additional forms for this. The processing of the submitted documents is carried out automatically by us as part of the service billing.

The app can only be used on iOS and Android smartphones.

iOS smartphones are supported from iOS operating system version 16.0 and up. Android smartphones are supported from operating system version 10.0 and up.

Currently, the app only supports smartphones. Tablets are not supported for use.

You can scan and submit doctors' invoices, prescriptions, medical orders, cost and treatment plans as well as other documents for processing claims through the app. Alternatively, you can also upload PDF files from your smartphone.

Foreign invoices must be submitted in their original form via postal mail. Please do not submit any proof of services from abroad through the app.

Please place the document on a flat, high-contrast, and dark surface, making sure everything on the page is readable and there are no folds that could impair the image quality or frame detection.

Then, open the R+V Gesundheit app and hold your smartphone steadily above the document. The scan will be triggered automatically, but you can also take a manual shot anytime by toggling the "Automatic / Manual" switch. During the scanning process, you will receive tips on how to improve the capture quality.

Please scan multi-page documents in one session. Ensure you capture all pages, including front and back if necessary.

After scanning, review your scanned documents in the page preview. If it is evident that some pages are not or only barely readable, please delete and rescan these pages. Then send all the pages of the document in one batch for processing to R+V Krankenversicherung AG.

Note that if the image quality is insufficient, R+V Krankenversicherung AG cannot process the document, and we will have to ask you to resubmit it. In this case, you will be contacted and can then resubmit via the app or choose postal mail.

However, please do not submit documents multiple times; only resubmit upon our request.

You may submit several documents with us with up to a total of 20 pages. If the limit of scanned pages for a shipment is reached, you will get a notification in the R+V Gesundheit app. Ensure that a document is always captured completely; do not submit partial documents. Please divide several documents over the limited number of pages and submit the documents through separate scanning processes.

If you have a user account with the "Meine R+V" customer portal, service statements will be displayed in the app's mailbox.

If you do not have a user account with the "Meine R+V" customer portal, you will continue to receive the service statement by mail as before.

You can switch to a "Meine R+V" account at any time and take advantage of all digital benefits.

Please note that the documents you have submitted will only become visible in the systems of R+V Krankenversicherung AG after some time.

SEND AND SUBMIT

If you have a user account with the customer portal "Meine R+V", you can also conveniently submit receipts concerning your family members via the R+V Gesundheit app. However, for easier processing of the submitted receipts, we kindly ask you to submit the receipts for each insured person in a separate process for the corresponding insurance number. If you use the app without a user account at the customer portal "Meine R+V", an individual account for the R+V Gesundheit app must be created for each insured person and the receipts submitted through it.

If the transfer of the scanned pages fails, for example, due to a disrupted internet connection, you will receive a notification through the R+V Gesundheit app. You can then resubmit the document when the internet connection is stable again.

Please note that drafts are not saved in the app, so you will need to re-scan the documents if you attempt to submit them later.

You can alternatively submit all your receipts to us by post and do not have to do this via the app.

Individual scanned pages can be deleted or replaced during a scanning process on the page preview.

In the receipt overview, you can also delete receipts with multiple pages.

In certain cases, especially with invoices from abroad or if the submitted receipts have insufficient image quality, we may ask for the originals again. Therefore, please keep your original receipts.

You can submit up to 20 scanned pages at once, regardless of the number of receipts for the affected insurance number. If the limit of scanned pages for a process is reached, you will receive a notification in the R+V Gesundheit app. Please make sure to always submit all pages belonging to a receipt (front and, if applicable, back side).

Please do not submit receipts multiple times; only resubmit them by post if we request it. Otherwise, it may lead to longer processing times and possible inquiries to you.

If you log out of the app or close the app from your open applications, any pages that have not been submitted will be lost.

DATA AND TECHNIC

If you have a "Meine R+V" account, we already have all the important information, and you can start using the R+V Gesundheit app directly with your user name and password for our customer portal "Meine R+V."

You can set up a "My R+V" account here at any time.

If you wish to register via quick access, we require your first and last name, insurance number, date of birth, and email address in addition to your first and last name.

R+V Krankenversicherung AG provides the app free of charge. To use the R+V Gesundheit app, you must have an existing contract or existing insurance coverage with R+V Krankenversicherung AG. Please note that a mobile data connection is required to use the app. The costs of using the app, for example for data transfer, are based on the rates of your network provider. In addition to the terms of use and the privacy policy for the R+V Gesundheit app, please also consider the terms of use of the respective app store from which you download the app; the app store operator is solely responsible for the content of the terms of use.

The scanned documents are encrypted with a key stored within the R+V Gesundheit app. Data transmission from the app to R+V Krankenversicherung AG is carried out via an encrypted data connection using the latest technical standards.

In the R+V Gesundheit app, the data from your registration (first name, last name, policy number, and date of birth) is stored. In the shipping overview, for each submission, the date, exact time, number of pages sent, confirmation of successful receipt, and image files of the submitted pages are saved.

You can view submitted documents at any time in the document archive under the "Documents" menu item.

Eine Exportfunktion ist in der aktuellen Version der App R+V Gesundheit nicht enthalten.

You can use the app on several devices with the same login details. Please note, however, that documents scanned on one device will also only be visible in the document archive on that same device.

To avoid duplicate submissions, please make sure you have not already submitted your documents through another smartphone.
